Welcome to Webber's Ed Blog Space. I know, I know everyone has a blog now. This is going to be my first go at blogging and admittedly I am doing it to shamelessly promote our company Webber's Ed - Teacher Talent and Consulting. However, I will say one thing. I am partially doing this because I feel like I might have some valuable information to impart after working internationally for the past 18 year on 4 continents in 5 countries outside of the USA including Venezuela, Malaysia, Sudan, Mexico and now Colombia.
I also am fortunate to have very talented friends in international education that I feel that I will be able to convince to share their opinions with you as guest bloggers. We are also hoping to have many of our teachers that we have placed in schools throughout Latin America share their experiences, thoughts and opinions with you as well.
In addition to this, I have been working at recrutiment and placement now for the past 6 years in Latin America. This is my second company to build from the ground up and work as an owner operator providing recruitment and placement for international schools in region. Not only do I love Latin America as I feel that it fits my personality, partly because I am half Mexican, but I just think that Latin America, for me is one of the most beautiful, exciting, vibrant and culturally profound places in the world. While it is true that it is difficult to make a lot of money in international education in Latin America, I tell people, go make the big bucks in Asia, the Middle East or Africa and then come back to Latin America for the lifestyle. Nothing against those other regions of the world. I have lived in each of them and loved them and their people but I am Latin American. You know how some people go to Asia and then "become Asian." Well I am Latin American. Still working on the Spanish but "poco a poco" as they say. This is what I am going to do for the rest of my life. It's "Latin America or Bust" for me! So sit back, get comfortable and lets talk education in Latin America. I am here for your assistance.
Having said all that, even if you are not going to use our services at Webber's Ed - Teacher Talent because you are not interested in Latin America or whatever your reason but you have a question, just ask. I was/am a career teacher. I still put in volunteer time at Fundacion Pies Descalzos, a public school where I live, coaching Debate and doing the greatest thing I have ever done in my life, teaching kids. So if you need anything, even if it does not have to do with our company or Latin America and I can help you, just ask. I will be happy to help or I will find you someone who can help you. After all, teaching is the single greatest job in the world, for those who want to do it. I still believe that after 30 years.
So thanks for reading all this if you have and let us know how we can help you.
We live here! We work here!
