Role Description
The successful candidate will work within the Secondary Leadership Team to support the school’s curricular and philosophical commitments as an IB World School offering the MYP and DP, and contribute to the school meeting its strategic goals over the years to come.
In addition, the Secondary Vice-Principal maintains effective relationships with the Principal, students, faculty, Learning Support, parents and others in order to ensure smooth daily operations.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate for this leadership opportunity will be a dynamic, innovative, forward-thinking, organized, collaborative and passionate educator, a creative problem solver, and an instructional leader with a focus on addressing the social, emotional and academic needs of students. The ideal candidate will have most of the following qualifications:
● Postgraduate qualification in Education, Educational Leadership/ Administration, Curriculum/Instruction, or a related field.
● Demonstrated commitment to current best practices in teaching and learning in constructivist, inquiry-based or DP contexts.
● Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively in written and oral forms.
● Full command of oral and written English; an advanced level of oral and written Spanish strongly desirable.
● Current understanding of assessment for/of/as learning and DP grading and reporting.
● A people-first approach to leadership, with the ability to build and develop teams and encourage and mentor others.
● Demonstrated administrative skills, including experience in development of master schedules..
● Prior experience of leadership in an IB World School.
● Excellent self- and time-management skills.
● The ability to lead faculty and departments to deliver on the school’s strategic goals and develop effective IB pedagogical practice.
● A commitment to delivering a world-class educational experience for the students that we serve.
● An unwavering belief in the ability of each student to succeed and make a positive impact in the world around them.
