Job Description: The School is seeking a dynamic and experienced IB MYP/DP English B Language Acquisition Teacher to join our team of dedicated educators. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP) curriculum frameworks, along with a passion for fostering a love of literature and language in students and the knowledge and experience to develop a reading culture. Responsibilities: Teach English Language B in alignment with the IB MYP/DP curriculum standards. Design engaging and differentiated lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities. Foster critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills through the exploration of literary texts and language studies. Implement authentic formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback. Collaborate with colleagues to integrate interdisciplinary approaches and promote a holistic learning experience. Support students in developing research, writing, and presentation skills required for IB assessments and projects. Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that values cultural diversity and promotes academic excellence. Provide guidances and support for students` language development outside of the classroom Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, academic goals, and upcoming events. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay abreast of IB updates and methodologies related to IB and language. Contribute to the extracurricular life of the school community through involvement in clubs, activities, and events.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching varied levels of second language learners, preferably in an IB MYP/DP or international school setting. Certification or training in IB MYP/DP curriculum is highly desirable. Proficiency in both English and Spanish (bilingualism is an asset). Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Passion for lifelong learning and a commitment to professional growth. Flexibility, adaptability, and a positive attitude towards challenges and change.
