The Edron Academy School Profile

Since 1963, The Edron Academy has been a leading school in Mexico City, known for its high academic standards, broad curriculum and unique core values.

In Mexico, it is the first COBIS Accredited Member school, the first High Performance Learning World Class School, as well the first and only school to offer the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.

With a strong emphasis on inclusion, the school has high expectations of every child. There is a strong sense of respect for the individual and a strong belief in unlimited potential. Staff are valued and supported, with an ongoing commitment to continuing professional development.

A bilingual and bicultural school, The Edron Academy has over 1,000 students, aged 2-18 years, in Kinder, Primary and Secondary. Students follow a bespoke blend of the English, Mexican and International curricula throughout their time at the school and the common pattern is for children to join Kinder and graduate with the IB Bilingual Diploma. The school is a unique place where children are safe, happy and successful.

In total, there are over 230 staff with a roughly 30/70 split between Mexican and British teachers. Over 90% of students are Mexican, with the remainder drawn from 14 nationalities. Above average results are achieved in both IGCSEs and the IB diploma with 90+% of students gaining 5 or more A* to C grades in the former and a 100% pass rate in the latter. All graduating students go on to university in Mexico, USA, Canada or Europe.

The School is managed by a Senior Leadership Team led by the Head Teacher, with Heads of Secondary, Primary and Kinder along with the Head of Administration and Head of Human Capital. There are leadership teams in each school and great emphasis is placed on providing leadership opportunities.
