Welcome to Colombia, and welcome to La Sierra International School (LASIS)!

It is a privilege for me to introduce you to our U.S.-accredited school, located in the foothills of the breathtaking Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain range on Colombian´s northern coast. Our young school has grown exponentially since its founding in 2012 and currently serves over 400 students from Nursery school through 12th Grade.  We take pride in modeling and instilling responsible behavior and good values while holding high standards for academic excellence.

From the earliest years, LASIS students are encouraged to be confident, self-directed learners.  The goal is to discover and nurture each child’s unique potential and develop leaders who can creatively and collaboratively face and resolve challenges.  As students progress through elementary into secondary school, we allow their individual personalities to shine while strengthening core values: Trustworthiness, Responsibility, Caring, Respect, Fairness, and Citizenship. LASIS encourages athletic and artistic competence and provides enriching interactions with other schools in Colombia and abroad. Model United Nations and other activities help us develop future leaders who are poised, compassionate and ethical.

Our highly qualified and dedicated faculty and staff are the key to our success.  Coming from the U.S., Canada, England, Nigeria, France and other countries as well as Colombia, they are a talented team of dynamic educators whose passion shows in their day-to-day work.  Teachers as well as students and parents participate enthusiastically in community outreach projects that help instill empathy and a sense of civic responsibility towards others.

Our campus covers more than 12 lush green acres that are home to a rich diversity of flora and fauna. It is truly a joy to come to school each day and feel immersed in natural beauty, with awesome views of the mountains.
